The Tomb of Jesus
There has been a lot of publicity lately that the tomb of Jesus Christ has been found. When I first heard the news, I just shook my head. Such a finding would contradict so many things. For those that believe that this could indeed be the tomb of Christ must answer all these questions as well.
1. How is it there are written accounts by eye witnesses seeing the empty tomb of Jesus and seeing His resurrected body in the flesh in the books of Matthew, Mark, and John (and Luke by interview)?
2. How is it that 500 people saw the resurrected Christ at one time?
3. How is it that the Apostle Paul, writer of many of the books of the New Testament, once a persecutor and murderer of Christians, became a follower of Christ if he hadn't met the risen Christ?
4. How is it that Jesus' disciples all scattered, hidden, and afraid after His crucifixion were later able to do die boldly for His name and continue a ministry that has lasted for 2000 years?
For someone pursuing the truth in this matter, they can't discount these things. The Bible exists and it proclaims otherwise. Its words have lasted throughout the ages and it has proven accurate with the oldest manuscripts discovered. It is ironic that the world is so preoccupied with a dead man's bones when eternal life can be found in the very thing they discount, the Bible.
I suppose doubters will always say that the Bible is a lie made up to further the cause of the church, but the church was very different back then. It wasn't cultural or acceptable in its first days. It was very counter cultural actually and those that led it, paid for it with their lives. There were no riches or power to be gained by duping the public. These men were in hiding, in prison, beaten, and poor. What did these men have to gain by proclaiming something they knew was a lie? What would motivate them to keep going? The truth is they saw the risen Christ with their own eyes and they wrote about it.

Anyways, it's been a while since I wrote. I've been wanting to write before now, but I have been busy. I think my blog hiatus is over for now though.
