So after 3 or 4 years of snowboarding, I finally bought a snowboard, boots, and bindings today. Most people are surprised I didn't own my own gear. This was for many reasons. The first being when I first started, I wasn't sure if I would stick with it or not. Second was the gear was a significant cost and I wasn't sure if I would stick with it or not. Third was with size 13 feet, it's hard to find stuff my size and I wasn't sure if I would stick with it or not.
Anyways, I wish I knew how to save money in buying snowboard gear like I know computers, but it is not the case. I paid top dollar for this stuff mainly cuz there just wasn't much selection. Why not wait until next season when there is? Well, I would have done that if there wasn't stuff that I liked tonight and the point is if the gear feels good then the experience will be much more enjoyable. I'm just tired of renting.
Anyways, browsing the many styles of snowboards, I've made some observations. All the guys boards are geared towards rebellion and death like anarchy symbols and skulls and winged freaky things or whatever while all the girls boards are geared towards nature like birds and flowers and things that are pink and light blue and stuff like that. What does this say about snowboarders? Do the guys just hate the world and want to think about death all the time? Are the ladies just thinking about the birds, flowers, and dolphins? Hmm, if that's true, I don't fit in so well as a snowboarder, ha ha. Anyways, I managed to find a snowboard that was wide enough and long enough and it only had fire on it, but it cost more than I wanted to spend. Oh well, it's mine now. I guess I'll put it in the pros category for being single, ha ha. My boots are brown which I really don't care for, but they feel good and that's more important. They are really light. Rental boots are so much heavier which is another reason why I finally took the plunge. Anyways, I'm going to Mammoth this weekend and I can't wait to try the stuff out.
Oh yeah, if you're interested in the details, I got a Burton Baron 162 with Drake F-50 bindings and Burton Ruler boots.

I work in the north part of Carson which is on the border of Compton which is a pretty bad area. But I've been working here so long, I'm kinda desensitized to it especially since it doesn't look nearly as bad as downtown. So today for lunch, we were eating at one of the local burger joints and my coworker noticed there were bullet holes in the window next to our booth. Actually 3 bullet dents in some bullet proof glass and one of them lined up perfectly with my head. So the question in my mind is this: Should I not eat there again considering its patrons seem to attract some unwanted attention OR should I eat there again because it has bullet proof glass and is probably more protected than some of the other places I eat?

DDR
Chane brought DDR to a party last Friday. I really stink at this game. There is no way I will ever get good at it. But I don't want to miss out on the fun either. So being the performer that I am, I like to talk about the game with utmost confidence and then play the game with exaggerated difficulty. It gets somewhat spazztic at times. Someone took a video of it, but I haven't seen it. I probably shouldn't otherwise I may regret it, ha ha. Anyways, a similar rendition will be on the Skit DVD in Nerds in Love 2: Dance Trance Revolution.
In North Dakota Again
Hopefully what will be my last time for one last demo. The radio said this morning that temperatures are "soaring". It's 30 degrees. I guess to them that is soaring because over the weekend it was -10. I'm glad I wasn't here for that. When it's that cold, I bet even ice feels warm. I can't wait to go home which is on Thursday...I hope.
